On Tuesday in Year 1 we re-enacted a school day as it was in the 1900’s. We had both the classes set up as it would have been in the period and worked as a class would have back then. After morning tea we moved into the hall to make damper and butter, play games and used old tools as they would have in the past.
The focus was on giving students the opportunity to develop their understanding of historical concepts and skills and to participate in the process of historical inquiry in our school setting.
All the parents, helpers and children had a wonderful day and the children thoroughly enjoyed eating the damper with home made butter.
